Hello Golf enthusiasts,

The golf season is kicking into full gear! We just wanted to reach out and update some happenings around the course.

This past fall we aerated the entire course, pretty certain it has not been done in 20 plus years. It will need it again, but its a start and turf areas are responding. This spring, holes 15, 14 and 13 greeted us with upwards to a foot of sand and river rock. We promptly rented a large ride on power broom and swept up a couple few hundred yards of sand and stones. After about 5 weeks of hand raking, picking rocks and massive clean up from our hard working crew, we then subbed out about 40 thousand sqft of hydro seeding. It was mostly successful but it’s still coming in. No lie, it’s tough to grow grass while carts and golfers are traversing but again, making some good progress. We laid 15,000 sqft of sod on newly built tees, holes # 7, 8 back, 8 front, 10, 11, 14, we enlarged tees 12 and 16 and we also laid sod on those. Two large areas on fairway 6 and 7 were also sod. Two days after laying the sod and a week post hydroseeding I come around the bend to see black smoke bellowing out of our pump house. We lost our pump, it happens, not the best of timing but hey, it was gonna go so lets getter done……. Thanks to AC motors in Auburn Maine, we pulled the motor and they picked it up and returned it within a week. In the mean time Sammy girl towed around a 500 gallon water tank all day everyday and kept the sod and hydroseed alive. Of course the weather was 90 degrees for that stretch but why would it be anything but? We brought in many truckloads of erosion stone, and tons of screened loam.

Smoothing the cart paths is on going, and more tee building to start in the very near future. New Fleet of Club Car Carts,

A 90 ft event tent, and many upcoming projects to come…All this for $55.00 bucks mid week and $65 on the weekends includes the cart. Even cheaper to walk. Sure, feel free to walk on the weekends. No cart mandate here.

So why am I telling you this? Simple. I want you all to know we are fully committed to making this place amazing.

We keep taking the punches and we keep getting better and better. We know its not perfect, we know its not where we want it to be, but we also know we are not where we were and we are making good strides and improvements that will indeed take time.

So those of you who have been in our corner since day #1…..Thank you! Through the floods, through the drought, through the rains and through the GAINS, We Love and appreciate all the support and gratitude, and the many kind words of praise you have giving us. It means a lot. Thankyou for taking the journey!! 300 plus members is saying something in this neck of the woods.

For a very few haters and former employees (who didn’t quite fit our model) who have left less than stellar reviews….we are very sorry but hey we just are not the right fit for you. We are striving to be a fun family oriented enjoyable golf course where people can enjoy a good fun round of golf, take in some amazing views, have some laughs, listen to some good music, dress casually, get some exercise, spend time with their loved ones, have a good meal and relax in the lounge or on the deck. Really simple for us its about community, friendships and family. We are bringing an entirely different vibe to golf!!! You want something other than that.. its out there and we hope that you will go look for it. But please….. if you do end up here don’t be surprised if you grow very fond of this place, Just as I did 40 years ago. See You on The Course!!!!
